He leadeth me

He leadeth me, O blessed thought!
O words with heavenly comfort fraught!
What e’er I do, where e’er I be,
Still ’tis God’s hand that leadeth me.
He leadeth me, He leadeth me,
By His own hand He leadeth me;
His faithful follower I would be,
For by His hand He leadeth me.
Sometimes mid scenes of deepest gloom,
Sometimes where Eden’s bowers bloom,
By waters still, o’er troubled sea,
Still ’tis His hand that leadeth me.
He leadeth me, He leadeth me,
By His own hand He leadeth me;
His faithful follower I would be,
For by His hand He leadeth me.
Lord, I would place my hand in Thine,
Nor ever murmer nor repine;
Content, whatever lot I see,
Since ’tis my God that leadeth me.
He leadeth me, He leadeth me,
By His own hand He leadeth me;
His faithful follower I would be,
For by His hand He leadeth me.
And when my task on earth is done,
When by Thy grace the victory’s won,
E’en death’s cold wave I will not flee,
Since God through Jordan leadeth me.
He leadeth me, He leadeth me,
By His own hand He leadeth me;
His faithful follower I would be,
For by His hand He leadeth me.

Making A Way

By Chicago Mass Choir

Making a way. Making a way. Making a way. CHORUS: Oh Lord, You made a way out of no way, out of no way. You’ve been my bridge over troubled waters, You’ve been my hope, hope for tomorrow; making a way, making a way. Making a way out of no way, yes, He’s a waymaker. Made a way out of no way, turn my night into day, yes, He’s a waymaker. Made a way out of no way, turn my night into day. You made a way out of no way, turn my night into day, yes, He’s a waymaker. Making a way.

‘Buhari Must Resign Over Fake Poll Promises’

Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari must resign for reneging on most of his election campaign promises, the National Coalition for Good Governance in Nigeria (NCGG) has said.

The organisation claimed Buhari had not only contravened “more than 80percent” of his campaign pledges but he has refused to implement the promises that formed the basis for his election as President.

“In civilized climes, Buhari should have resigned without any publicoutcry or bear the burden of popular uprising. Sycophants, pretending andsectional-minded people cannot provide leadership let alone goodgovernance,” NCGG said in a statement signed by Malam Abdulazeez Mitchikaand Zebulon Ayo-Tamuno, Coordinators for the North and South respectively.

“Instead of creating jobs, he is creating an environment that will makecorporations to downsize. He has promised to sack 2 000 Universitylecturers in January 2016.

“The banks are likely to lose 30 000 workers. He is corrupt and incapableof fighting corruption. Buhari has not found the Chibok girls. Boko Haram has intensified and now the Shi’ite and Suni Muslims are slaughtering themselves.”

The officials said Buhari had not fulfilled the N5 000 promised unemployedyouths and had not provided the free meal he promised.They said Buhari promised to create720 000 jobs by the 36 states in the federation yearly but failed.

“This may never happen even if we give Buhari 50 years to rule Nigeria,”the NCGG officials said.

NCGG said the fight against corruption had been selective.

“Firstly, he has only prosecuted and persecuted people from the NigerDelta. Secondly, he has refused to prosecute high profile corruption cases such as the Halliburton scandal.Buhari is also embroiled in Dasuki gate hence he is now going for a plea bargain. This hypocrisy must stop.”

NCGG pointed out the economy was on a recession.

“Buhari’s seven months rule has brought Nigeria’s economy to an all-timelow and it is plummeting further on a slippery slope.”Officials said Buhari’s Media Chat on Wednesday had “betrayed his intentions to lead Nigeria to utter disintegration.”

“He has no ideas on how to move Nigeria forward. President Buhari’spromised change is fake, utopian and nonsensical. He should resign beforepushing Nigeria to the precipice of disintegration. Nigeria must be unitedand not even President Buhari can divide us. We so resolve!”Buhari won the presidential election in March and was sworn-in in May. -CAJ News

Nigeria Legal System Labeled a Tommy and Jerry Affair

A pro-democracy organisation has lamented failure by the Nigeria government to uphold the rule of law in recent times.

The concern by the Good Governance Advocates comes on the back of government arms, particularly, the State Security Service defying court orders to release suspects in high-profile cases.

“In a true democratic setting, adherence to the rule of law and justice are keys to public trust and orderliness. But when these are vice versa the nation will be in anarchy and chaos,” Ifedayo Obi, an executive with the Good Governance Advocates.Obi said the current situation in the country’s judicial system should notcontinue in 2016 as it portended more harm than good for Nigeria’s nascent democracy.

“Even though our judicial system is not absolute, outright abuse of courtorders and differential templates that invaded election tribunals should cease from our land,” said Obi.He said if local legal luminaries as the Nigeria Bar Association andNational Judicial Council were comfortable with recent developments, thenlaw as a career in this dispensation might be a “Tom and Jerry” affair.

“Justice should not be dispensed on altar of politics and ethnicity. As we celebrate 32nd year of firstst coming of our political lord and saviour,President Buhari on December 31, let us do away with judicial impunity and contempt.”
